TC Safe is integrated with electronic health record software to safeguard cardholder data and reduce PCI scope.

SANTA ANA, California, June 27, 2018 — TrustCommerce®, the leading provider of secure electronic payment acceptance and risk management solutions, is pleased to announce that TC Safe™, our PCI Validated Point to Point Encryption (VP2PE) solution, is integrated to Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) technology. TC Safe provides healthcare organizations with the strongest available payment security technology as well as maximum PCI scope reduction.

TC Safe™ safeguards credit and debit card payments by encrypting all cardholder data within PCI PTS SRED certified hardware. Cardholder data is encrypted at the point of interaction (POI), encrypted again and passed directly through the TC Servers until received by TrustCommerce and decrypted within our secure VP2PE environment. No clear-text cardholder data is accessible in the device, in transit, or within a merchant’s system. Encrypting at the point of interaction makes sensitive information undecipherable and useless to hackers.

Benefits include:

  • Protects point of sale transactions from the POI, immediately encrypting cardholder data.
  • Seamless integration into Resolute and Welcome for a smooth patient payment experience.
  • Maintains existing Epic workflows.
  • Eases the burden of PCI compliance.
  • Keeps PCI data out of other systems.

TC Safe™ is validated as compliant with the Payment Card Industry Point-to-Point Encryption Standard (PCI P2PE), a set of rigorous technical and operational requirements and guidelines. TC Safe can be viewed on the PCI SSC P2PE Solutions site of approved solutions:
https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/assessors_and_solutions/point_to_point_encryption_solutions.

As part of the validation requirements, TC Safe uses only PCI PTS SRED certified hardware, such as those implementing Ingenico’s On-Guard P2PE technology. Device support includes Ingenico Group smart terminals and ID Tech SRED devices.

TrustCommerce has released a new whitepaper, which includes a challenging use case that demonstrates the value of a VP2PE solution within healthcare environments. Download the whitepaper here. To learn more about TC Safe VP2PE, call 800.915.1680.

TrustCommerce has been integrated with Epic for more than 15 years, supporting over 200 mutual clients. TrustCommerce solutions are fully integrated to Resolute, Welcome, MyChart, and Willow Ambulatory. The integration supports Epic-hosted and client-hosted environments as well as Epic Connect implementations.
